These are samples from the current unit we are working on- math! We started with symmetry and how symmetry can rotate or radiate around a center point.We found examples of radial symmetry and spirals in nature and discussed how to use this is our designs. I encouraged them to sketch out their design first before they inked it and then we used liquid watercolors to paint them. It was really interesting to see how they each approached it- there were spirals made into snails, flowers with vivid designs, storms with radiating clouds, the list goes on and on!! Wonderful work and effort from the kids!
